Midsummer moments

It was supposed to be Midsummer in town, but we ended up driving towards the wooden town of Tammisaari yesterday, taking the idyllic, windy roads back home late in the evening. And today some strawberry picking on a farm, we now have a fridge and freezer abounding in red goodies. No doubt yummiest when eaten fresh or with a dollop of cream, but any favourite recipe ideas for those stashed in the freezer are more than welcome! Anna Järvinen provided my midsummer soundtrack.

Aurinkoisia päiviä!

Kauniita kuvia, ihana tunnelma. Mansikkakakku on ehkä parasta mitä tuoreista mansikoista voi tehdä! :) (paitsi tietenkin syödä mansikoita sellaisenaan)

Lovely post, I love flowers and plants. Here in Madrid is so hot and there are so much noise and so much cars.
Read your post make me feel so good.
Have a nice day!

Franka, Thanks, love my little girl, too :)

Barbara, Strange to think you're in the middle of winter over there, although luckily it's probably not treating you as harshly as our last winter treated us :)

rva Reipas, Kiitos, kauniita kolkkia tosiaan.

polkadotpeticoat, The picture of the road up the hill was taken in the small village of Fagervik, it's a real gem.

Kathrine, Thank you so so much, warms my heart :)

Urbanstems, Thanks! There seemed to be lupins all over the place, unfortunately the ones we picked have withered now :)

Netta, Mansikkakakku on kyllä ihan ehdoton. Jos noista pakastetuista tekisi jossain vaiheessa vaikka vähän hilloa.

pia, Kiitos toivotuksista, hyvä kuulla, että sielläkin tarkenee :)

MissBliss, Thank you - nothing better than free flowers on the roadside...

Sussi's värld, Thanks and hugs!!

loquelvientosedejo, I must say we are lucky that the countryside is right on our doorstep, even though we live in the centre of the capital. It's wonderful to hear the sound of waves, birds and leaves rustling in the wind. So calming. Take care x

dancingbeastie, Ooh, you should definitely come x
