Like a Painting

The home of artist couple Lili Nalovi and Jesko Willert is like an incredible work of art itself. The home has featured in a number of magazines, including Finnish Glorian koti. It goes down as one of the most impressive houses I've seen. The couple has covered the walls with Japanese rice paper, which they have painted themselves. They studied decorative painting in Florence, a skill which is reflected in the ceiling reliefs they created. A backdrop of a mansion-style house in Hamburg with its original moldings, the result is nothing short of exquisite.

Pariskunta on päällystänyt seinät itse maalaamillaan japanilaisilla riisipaperitapeteilla. Nalovi ja Willert opiskelivat koristemaalausta Firenzessä ja ovatkin loihtineet upeita  kattomaalauksia kotiinsa. Ja kartanomainen talo alkuperäisine katto- ja seinäkoristeineen parin temmellyskenttänä takaa huikaisevan lopputuloksen.

That is stunning. I'd feel as if I'm in a museum that's constantly changing its exhibitions every time I would open my eyes. I think to live like that you need to be: a. very creative and b. very brave - usually people tend to stick to something hmm... more... how do I put it? simple? is that the right word? We tend to think about how easy it would be to clean and how practical some things are and end up with quite boring interiors, well, boring compared to this one :)

♥ to you all!

Pia, ei kun vaan spraymaalipurkki kauniiseen käteen :)

Kristina, if I remember correctly, the couple uses part of the house as a studio and where people can come and see their work, so I guess it's rather extraordinary place in every way.
