Lobby thoughts

I took the picture above this afternoon
- a bit of a memento, as we ripped up the lino flooring from our hallway.
Next on the list is to call the trusted sander,
who also took care of the floors in other parts of our apartment. We've been throwing ideas of concrete tiles, painted checkered floors and even herringbone parquet in the air,
but in the end decided to at least start off
with the same look as in the other rooms
- layers of lye, oil mixed with white pigment, and soap.
As for the rest of the space, only two things are for sure right now
 - a bit of a gallery & some votives.
Here's a few with elements that inspire me.

Thanks, my daughter's golden shoes are getting pretty worn by now :)
And yes, another thought was to create book shelves to go above the doors etc.,
but in the end thought it would be nice to create a separate study with
plenty of room for books on a single wall
and stick to a collection of pictures in the hallway after all.
Better carry on with building the collection :)

The hallway is rather dark,
so I think pale floors & fresh paint will work in that respect.
Although now I'm having second thoughts about a white+dark grey
checkered floor again...

Thanks michele!!
I love that, too, and the whole image in fact,
& of course Bella Freud's background makes her all the more fascinating...

So glad it can work both ways :)
Hope you're having a lovely weekend dear Anci, x

Kiitokset kenkäkuvakehuista :)
Lattia on kyllä aikas ihanan näköinen noinkin,

joten seinäpinnat on aika kapoisia.

Leppoisaa viikonloppua! x
