LATELY...

plans for a shoot
involving plenty of tulle, top hats
& powdered cheeks

still feeling the rhythm,
dance, soul, joy, warmth & beauty
from last night's concert in my hood
with Nouvelle Vague
and opening Liset Alea,
who was so incredible, too.
A Parisian glow landed in Helsinki for the night
and I'm not gonna let it go...

I've also been feasting my eyes
on this apartment,
and these boho spaces.

And I thank you for your Monday moment
here with me
~  wishing you plenty of light & love
for the week ahead.

À L'HÔTEL

Our rooftop hideaway with a view.
The days began with breakfast
over a steamy pot of coffee pour moi
& pot of thick, creamy hot chocolate pour elle,
always served up with a beaming smile.
A pleasure to share
this time with my girl,
who seems to share my love
for the city of light.

À bientôt, Paris.

PAR{AD}IS

a few cherished days with my girl
in Par(ad)is...

oohing & aahing on our little balcony
overlooking the Tuileries gardens
with its showers of magnolia petals
& scent of cherry blossoms
filling the morning air.

Other glimpses here ~

Pont des Arts may be
weighing heavy with love locks,
but Parisians are inventive.

Street art & writings under bridges
put a smile on the face
and serve as heartfelt reminders
of the joy & beauty of life,
even in the face of sadness
that has struck both there & close by
so recently.

PERFUME MECCA

City of perfume steeped on a hill.
A scent-filled town that's conjured up
magical connotations in my head
& created a longing
to see it for myself one day.
Last summer I got lucky.

in the heart of the medieval town
merges the past & present
in the art of perfume-making.
The old town mansion
with its stunning rooms
& modern, light-filled glass extensions
filled with plants like vetiver, patchouli and jasmine
reveal the secrets behind all things olfactory
from raw materials and ancient methods of distilling flowers & plants
to 80s headspace and bottle design.

There were metal rods to pull out from a wall,
each lined with a different variation
of Dior's favourite flower muguet, aka lily of the valley,
& capsules to fill the nose with everything
from whiskey to rose, mimosa, vanilla, tuberose...

Next door,
Fragonard with its smaller museum,
elegant shop
& glimpse into perfume-making du jour.

Many months have passed since our trip to Grasse,
but the sillage on my skin still lingers...
