Florsjö Gård

I still remember sharing this dream (one of a myriad of different dreams, I can tell you...) quite a while ago now. I've been nursing my little flu with a pile of old magazines in the last few days, and came across the same beautiful Florsjö Gård once again. And then found some more pictures, which I thought I'd post for all of you to see.  So here goes -

More than a hint of an idyllic Carl Larsson-esque Swedish existence there don't you think? 

(And these warmed my heart, as we now have two little violinists in the house, too, with our younger one having her second lesson today - she is so excited!)

Amelie's

Makeup artist Amelie Holmberg's country abode in Sweden's Skåne has just the perfect pinch of shabby, relaxed nostalgia. The house was featured in the latest issue of Sköna hem Country Life,  

and I was so happy to find some more 'behind-the scenes' shots on stylist Mia Anderberg's blog:

(I couldn't help notice how Amelie's kitchen has so many similar elements to ours - same tap, same fridge down to the colour, similar hob, worktops & shelves, although theirs on a much grander scale of course :)) 

Meikkitaiteilija Amelie Holmbergin skånelaiskoti on ihan tosi hurmaava. Tuo makuuhuonekin niin äärikaunis. Enkä voinut olla huomamatta, miten paljon Amelien keittiöstä löytyy samoja elementtejä kuin omastamme, heillä vaan on aikalailla isommalla mittakaavalla.

Wake up & smell the coffee

In my case, the perfect kitchen has whitewashed, original cabinets, - robust, grey, somewhat worn surfaces, - it brims with a mixed array of hand-me-down pots&pans and flea market -found earthenware. And is of course filled with an aroma of freshly brewed coffee and a serene, calming vibe.

Minun tapauksessani täydellinen keittiö koostuu valkoisiksi sutaistuista vanhoista kaapistoista, - jykevistä, harmaista, rosoisista tasoista, - hyllyt notkuvat mummoilta ja tädeiltä perittyjen  pannujen ja kirppisastioiden sekalaista seurakuntaa. Ja ilmassa leijailee tietenkin vastapaahdetun kahvin tuoksu ja hyväilevän rauhaisa tunnelma.

Roman and Williams

The New York home of designer couple Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, aka Roman and Williams, is just incredible, see for yourselves! I've collected pictures from a number of sources, you'll find the related articles via the links at the bottom of the post. I couldn't leave any of the kitchen angles out, as I love it so. The kitchen is created from separate pieces that have been painted in the same tone and joined by marble worktops. Add some industrial lamps and the result is just perfect. I also love the glass-paned library nook that divides the living space.

Newyorkilainen arkkitehti-/sisustussuunnitelijapariskunta Robin Standefer ja Stephen Alesch, ts. Roman and Williams, omistavat mitä huipuimman kodin, katsokaa vaikka! Tässä on niputettuna kuvia eri lähteistä, postauksen alta löytyvät linkit artikkeleihin. Keittiökuvia kertyi jonkin verran, teki minuun sen verran suuren vaikutuksen. Keittiö koostuu eriparikaapeista, jotka on maalattu saman sävyiseksi ja yhdistetty marmoritasoilla. Joukkoon vielä vanhoja teollisuusvalaisimia ja lopputulos on perfecto. Ja tuo oleskelutilasta lohkaistu kirjasto saa sydämen sykkimään.
