The Natural Home

I haven't bought myself any interior books lately, but if I did it could very well be this one - Hans Blomquist's The Natural Home

(published by Ryland Peters & Small,
 (photography by super-talented Debi Treloar).

Crumpled, faded browns and nature-inspired simplicity speak volumes to me right now.

Twig Hutchinson's home&hideaway

When I first laid my hands on a Toast catalogue a few years ago now, I just had to look up the stylist who had created such amazingness. That's when I decided Twig Hutchinson must be my favourite stylist if ever I had to name one (doesn't the name already conjure up images of a magical forest?). And surely if someone can create such wonderful scenes, her home must be pretty special, too?

Unfortunately I haven't come across any photos from her home online, so I took some snaps of her home featured in Atlanta Bartlett's Easy Elegance (photographed by Polly Wreford and published by Ryland, Peters & Small).

But what I did find, quite by chance, was this clip of Twig Hutchinson showing her little hideaway at the end of her garden - do take a look, it's a d r e a m.

Salut!

A flurry of organising, overdosing on spinach and savouring some magazine goodies my hubby brought from his business trip to Copenhagen. (My humble wish is to find at least Rum magazine also in Helsinki one day, please, please, please!)

The weekend will be somewhat more of a bustle than this with the arrival of my parents any minute now to spend a long weekend with us, and at least my son's concert, daughter's ballet and brother's baby's christening in store.

May your weekend be delicious & delightful in every way!

On my wish list

I haven't bought any interior books in absolutely ages, but then I came across the book Creative Walls by Geraldine James in a book shop just recently. Full of quirky corners, I think it has to go on my wish list. Here's a little sneak peek.

The Delicious Miss Dahl's Kitchen

Couped up in bed with a flu, my eyes have been feasting on BBC's Delicious Miss Dahl, albeit via youtube. Although I have to admit that instead of concentrating on the food, my eyes have been drifting over all the gorgeous details in her kitchen - which, as I found out, is actually the kitchen of photographer Paul Massey, which has been featured all over the place before, including my blog. It has to be testament to a beautifully and simply designed kitchen, where, with a bit of styling, you can create almost any kind of ambiance. Feeling rough and in need of an instant lift and with my new kitchen in mind, I couldn't resist ordering her cookbook
.

Olen potenut sängyn pohjalla flunssaa ja nautiskellut silmänruokana BBC:n The Delicious Miss Dahl -nimistä ruokaohjelmaa, youtuben välityksellä tosin. Keittiön kauniin simppeli kuosi on näemmä omiaan vaikka minkälaisten tunnelmien loihtimiseen pienen stailauksen avulla. Karun oloni vallassa ja uusi keittiö mielessä päädyin tilaamaan myös Sophie Dahlin keittokirjan
.
