Country roads transported us from the south coast of England
to the west country
- Cornwall,
a place I've longed to see for myself
for so many years.
The St Ives of Virginia Woolf's summers,
(This time cold & rainy,
with floods of tourists & surfers.
But the same streets, the same lighthouse,
the same sea.)
St Michael's Mount
and July sunsets,
Quaint fishing villages,
like Mousehole here,
(Don't you just love that name?!
Although I was a little disappointed
(and embarrassed)
to discover it's actually pronounced "mowzel".)
It's also home to photographer Paul Massey's
lovely hope mousehole.
Tintagel in northern Cornwall
with its rugged cliffs,
green blanket of grass,
turquoise sea,
stuff of Arthurian legends.
Rugged, wild, dreamy Cornwall.
I know I'll be back one day.
Vierailu Cornwalliin oli minulle
monen vuoden unelmoinnin täyttymys.
Näissä vilahtaa St Ives,
jossa Virginia Woolf vietti nuoruuden kesiään,
B&B:tämme lähellä sijaitseva
St Michael's Mount,
kalastajakylä Mousehole,
(jossa myös valokuvaaja Paul Masseyn hope mousehole sijaitsee),
alimmissa Tintagelin
vaikuttavat maisemat,
jossa legendan mukaan
Kuningas Arthur sai alkunsa.
